Thai shipbuilder lands contract with Danish-Taiwanese offshore company


Marsun Shipyard in Thailand has been awarded a contract for two high-speed trimaran crew transfer vessels Inertia M3 (CTV) from the joint Danish-Taiwanese offshore facility UMO, Wind at sea reports.

UMO was formed earlier this year between Danish company World Marine Offshore (WMO) and Taiwanese bulk carrier company U-Ming Marine Transport Corporation.

Marsun Shipyard is responsible for building CTVs to Danish flag requirements, classifying them as passenger ships in Bureau Veritas, in accordance with the IMO High Speed ​​Code. WI-ND Naval Architects has in close cooperation with Sydney based high speed craft experts One2three Naval Architects designed the vessels based on the trimaran hull shape Inertia.

The hull design is prepared for a hybrid installation and the ships will be equipped with 24 passenger seats offering 180 degree visibility, two cabins for a single officer, two cabins for two crew and a mess for the crew. and a TV lounge.

In addition, the foredeck area will include a loading deck for containers and toolboxes as well as an air-conditioned storage space of 50 cubic meters below deck, made possible only by the shape of the trimaran’s hull.
