METT Hotel & Beach Resort Marbella Estepona managed by SHG is acquired by HIP

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG), renowned for curating contemporary hotel experiences around the world, announces a further expansion of its lifestyle hotel brand, METT Hotels & Resorts.

Following the successful opening of METT Hotel & Beach Resort Bodrum in 2021, which received outstanding accolades including TIME’s The World’s 100 Great Places and the annual Condé Nast Traveler Middle East Readers’ Choice Award, METT Hotels & Resorts extends to Marbella, Spain.

The new METT Hotel & Beach Resort Marbella Estepona was recently acquired by HIP-Blackstone, taking over ownership from the Spanish family office Mazabi. The hotel is located on the pristine coastline of the Costa del Sol and has 249 keys including 24 suites. A comprehensive renovation funded by HIP – Blackstone began upgrading the property to METT Hotels & Resorts standards and welcoming guests in July 2023. True to its concept, the 5-star lifestyle property will focus on dining, entertainment and experiences to bring people together to celebrate life.

The beachfront property has stunning sea views and is surrounded by lush Andalusian landscaping resembling a “chic contemporary cortijo”. With the art of dining and entertainment at its heart, the resort will feature several international lifestyle brands, providing a unique dining offering that will position this property as a center for socializing.

The hotel sits directly on a pristine beach, complete with a bespoke pool and a few private pools and cabanas. An ideal destination for fitness and wellness enthusiasts, the resort also offers a state-of-the-art gym and studio for group classes, as well as a modern spa designed to soothe, pamper and de-stress guests.

The opening of METT Hotel & Beach Resort Marbella is scheduled for July 2023, and future openings under the brand are planned in some of the world’s most exciting and dynamic destinations.
